How should you prepare for your laser treatment?

Shave all areas the night before. The less hair we see, the better the treatment.

How many treatments will you need?

While this number varies depending on hormones, age, and ethnicity- the average number of treatments needed is between 8 -10. Hormonal areas (face, Brazilian, areola) require 10 treatments.

How do we sanitize our room & equipment?

Each morning and after each treatment, we spray all surfaces, including eyewear, with hospital grade disinfectant effective against HIV, HBV, HCV, HSV, SARS, H1N1, Corona Virus, as well as others.

How long do you have to wait to get facial hair lasered after getting fillers or botox?

Our laser does not interfere with any fillers or botox you have previously received. We suggest waiting a couple days after the injections because the injected area can sometimes be sensitive and while our laser is virtually pain-free, we do have tip pressed against your skin.

Can you get a massage after your laser treatment?

Although our laser does not irritate the skin, we do recommend waiting a day to get a massage as there is a lot of energy being delivered into the follicle.

Can my skin be too dark for laser hair removal?

Our laser is FDA approved to treat all skin tones, safely and effectively. Generally skin is a little darker in our intimate areas, if the skin is the same color as the hair it can be a little more difficult to treat; the laser is looking for melanin and if the skin is just as dark as the hair then the laser has a hard time differentiating.

What hair removal methods can you use in-between your laser hair removal sessions?

Once you begin laser hair removal, you can no longer tweeze or wax; if you pull the treated hair out of the follicle before it falls out naturally, your body will produce a new hair, thus reversing the effects of your laser treatment. Shaving and trimming are the recommended methods of removing unwanted hair between sessions.

Looking for pricing for an area(s) not listed on our website?

We can laser any body part that has pigmented hair; however it would be too much to list each area individually. If you would like more information on a body part not listed, please call or text us (813) 990-7564

Have you gotten white bumps post laser?

Our Alma Soprano Ice laser is extremely gentle on the skin, more than 99% of clients have no reaction other than hair-loss; however, on rare occasion, a client can experience some white bumps on the treated areas. These bumps are frequently due to the skin glands being over stimulated by the laser which causes localized irritation but clears up within a few days.

Can you go to the beach or tanning bed while getting laser hair removal?

Our Alma Soprano Ice is FDA approved for tanned skin, so you do not have to avoid the sun but we do ask you limit sun exposure a few days before and after your treatment. The laser deposits a lot of energy into the skin, the energy from the sun/UV can overexcite the melanocytes and cause hyperpigmentation.

How can you schedule an appointment?
How many areas can you do at one time?

There is no limit to how many body parts you can treat during one session. Our Alma laser is not only “virtually pain free” but also faster than most lasers due to the in-motion technology so lasering your entire body can be done in as little as 2 hours. Since it is a process, you don’t want to over commit yourself financially; You do not want to start in an area and stop midway through. Your body has the ability to heal, therefore if you do not fully damage the follicles your body will more than likely start healing those follicles and you will eventually be back where you started sometime in the future.

Do you need numbing cream for your treatment?

Most laser hair removal systems are painful and a numbing cream is applied before the treatment. At Sleek Aesthetics, no numbing cream is necessary; with our laser systems in-motion technology and ice cold tip, you will remain comfortable. During the treatment, you will feel warmth and a mild tweezing sensation.

Can I have laser hair removal while on my period?

Yes, you can have laser hair removal when you have your period. If you are treating your Brazilian area, we ask you wear a tampon for hygiene purposes. If you don’t use tampons, we kindly ask you reschedule your appointment until after your period is over. All other areas are fine to treat as normal and will not affect your treatment. Please don’t be embarrassed to contact us with any questions about this. Being a dedicated laser hair removal facility, this is a very common occurrence.

Do medications alter the results?

If you are currently taking any medication/antibiotics that make you sun sensitive you need to stop taking them for 5-7 days before your treatment. If you are using a retinol product you will need to refrain for 4-5 days before coming in. If you are on Accutane you must talk with your doctor before beginning any laser regimen.

How to prepare for your visit when lasering the face?

The face should be clean and free of any make-up; if you apply any topical creams, please wait until your laser hair removal session is over to apply.
